Feedback from your visit

There are two ways in which families receive feedback from their visit to Children's Hospital, Boston.  Each individual clinician that your child sees will generate a written evaluation which will be sent to you, your child’s pediatrician, your child’s school, and any other doctors or caregivers you would like to receive a copy.  The written evaluation will summarize your child’s visit with the clinician and offer recommendations for future care as well as additional services your child may benefit from.

In addition to the written evaluations, the clinicians come together at the end of your child’s visit for a “team meeting.”  In the meeting, each person has an opportunity to discuss their visit with you child and propose recommendations to the larger group.  Together the team brainstorms the most beneficial social, emotional, medical, and educational services for your child.  After the team meeting, you will have the opportunity to meet with one member of the team to go over a comprehensive summary of your visit.  At this time, we will make additional recommendation that may not have been discussed in your individual appointments. The meeting can take place in person or over the phone, depending on your schedule.

Follow-up/Ongoing care

Our commitment to your child’s health and wellbeing does not end when your visit ends. We are able to provide a variety of follow-up care and assistance, whether you live in Boston or the rest of the country.

Some families utilize the clinic as a onetime evaluative service, although many families return for periodic follow-up evaluations and occasionally ongoing services. For example, you child may need annual cardiac work-ups or monthly speech therapy.  Such follow-up care can be provided here at Children’s with the same clinicians you child saw during your visit.  However, if you are coming from out of town or find it difficult to get into the city, we can make recommendations for follow-up services that are more convenient for you.
